Wooden bridges are invariably a more economic solution than any other. We design and make a wide variety of bridges in a range of different materials - best suited to the application. If required we are pleased to provide Design Calcs or Design Packages including Agreement in Principle when client needs require this. Longer bridges requiring steel beams can be supplied in both galvanised and painted finishes. We recognised the value of the FSC process and we have Chain of Custody certification. We are working towards external verification to ISO 14001.

Current thinking is that timber could play a large part in combatting global warming. Planting trees will help but cutting and replanting is seen as a way to lock carbon out of the air. If we use timber for things that will last a long time we are effectively taking the carbon dioxide that we have released from the fossil fuels and storing it away. The trees that are planted continue this process.

Kit Bridges

The most economic solution by far to bridging a small stream for occasional pedestrian use is a small self assembly kit bridge.

These cunningly designed units are supplied in a "flat pack" with detailed assembly instructions and a drawing.

The wood is chemically treated to give a life in excess of 30 years.
